Can't afford the Iphone? Alternatives from just £100

If you find yourself unwilling - or unable to pay the eye-watering costs of acquiring an Iphone handsets, the good news is there
are other handsets on the market at a fraction of the price that will give you many of the features.

Not only are there me-too designs from the big manufacturers, but also unknowns. Take a look at this phone - which goes under a variety of names, the best being the 'Hi-phone'. With a bit of wallpaper, you can get a handset that cosmetically, is 90% there.

Usage-wise, it's a different matter, with the interface being slightly more clunky. But the features are more or less the same.
The best part, obviously, is the cost. At under £100 it's very cheap and certainly a good option if you're stalling out your contract for the Iphone.

Nokia 1208 on Vodafone PAYG for under £20!

This represents pretty good value for money considering that you don't have to make a mandatory top up.
With Vodafone now selling on Amazon there are some interesting price clashes developing across the more popular
pre-pay handsets with a lot of retailers trying to beat each other by only a penny - which is good news for the consumer.

Also impressive is that there is free shipping which is not usually the case for the lower end phones.
With this lower end phone for under £20, it's not a surprise that it's the top-selling on Amazon for the moment.

T-Mobile LG KP100 £9.99 + £5.00 Airtime free on registration!

This is a great deal - a basic LG phone aliright - but the £5 free on registration effectively
brings the cost of the handset down to £5.00.

The LG KP100 is quite a decent phone for this price - giving you a bit of colour and nice
metallic design as opposed to the other basic models. Certainly it is useful as a stocking filler
or as a phone for oldies.

Orange Accessories Mobile Phone Sale - 3 for 2!

A good idea, this - buy 3 handsets and get the cheapest one free! Quite a wide range of handsets on this sale,
although not that many high-end ones.

The handsets are too numerous to mention here, but my pick is probably the Motorola SLVR L7 - if you buy 3, it works out to
around £11.99 each, which is a stunning price for the phone considering the features it packs.

Certainly a good deal if you want some Christmas stocking fillers or cheap presents - ideal for the credit crunch!

Get Cash for your old mobiles!

Just came across this good deal which has been going on for some time now. Mazooma Mobile
are offering to purchase any of your mobile phones, alive or dead (not stolen though).

At last, here seems to be a reliable veichle for selling phones. You go onto the site, say what you have, they
quote a price, and if you accept that, they will send an envelope for you (or arrange collection if you have more than 10).

This is quick and painless. I would have to say that the prices are very low for older phones, some of them only getting £1
but you're paying for peace of mind and that your phone will be recycled to a better place. The prices for some of the
newer phones are quite reasonable, actually, with £150 for an N95 8GB. Try it out!

Seems like a great deal - Orange Accessories are offering a free phone when you purchase
their MPS-60 speakers! They look small but actually deliver quite nice bass.

The price is £29.99 which is actually very expensive for these, probably worth about £10-15 new.
But the addtion of the phone - the Sony Ericsson W200i, makes this a good deal. A slimmed down version
of the W810i with a few reduced features - it's definately worth the extra cost.
With the addition of a large memory card you have an easy portable music solution.

Sony Ericsson W880i O2 PAYG just £59.99 with FREE Speakers

Great deal from Woolworths. Considering the phone still routinely sells second-hand for around
£50, this is quite a nice deal with the addition of the portable speakers which offer good sound
quality. Not likely to last long though.

Comes locked to O2 so you will need to get this unlocked or take the SIM they give you.

Apple Iphone 8GB now £169.00 at Carphone Warehouse/O2!

In case you haven't heard - the Apple Iphone is now reduced by £100 for the 8GB version - presumably to make way for the 3G
version coming to town in May or June.

A fantastic deal - considering that you can jailbreak this to work on any network. This phone has an good resale value if you do it
quick - CEX are still paying £240 for one.

This mid-range handset has a good set of features and also includes a high-quality camera for those
